We invite you to join us for the fifth in our current series of ‘In conversation / Q&A’ events with artists whose exhibitions form part of the programme of activity at The International 3.
On Thursday 21st July, there will be an opportunity for you to see Louise Giovanelli’s solo exhibition Prima Donna followed by an in conversation led by Charlotte Keenan (Curator of British Art at National Museums Liverpool based at Walker Art Gallery). The evening will conclude with an opportunity for Q&A.

Charlotte Keenan joined National Museums Liverpool in 2010 as the Assistant Curator of Fine Art. Based at the Walker Art Gallery she later took up the position of Curator of Works on Paper in 2011 before being appointed Curator of British Art in April 2014 where her responsibilities include British paintings, works on paper and sculpture (including installations and new media art) at the Walker Art Gallery, Lady Lever Art Gallery and Sudley House.
Since her arrival she has curated several major exhibitions for the gallery and carried out new research on the collection. Her current research interests include representations of gender and sexuality in contemporary and modern art. In 2013 she was the inaugural Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Curatorial Scholar at the Yale Centre for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut, where she carried out new research on the Walker’s collection of drawings by the artist Walter Sickert.
Charlotte studied Art History and English Literature at the University of Sussex and completed her Masters in Art History there in 2009. Charlotte was an Assistant Curator at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery before joining the Walker in 2010.

Louise Giovanelli graduated from her BA Fine Arts (Painting) at Manchester School of Art in 2015. Her previous exhibitions include, Institution | Outstitution at The International 3, Pleasure Islands at Art Work Atelier, Salford, The Painted World, Saatchiart Showdown Final, Los Angeles and Ones to Watch, Sarrow Galerie, Pforzheim, Germany. Louise has been the recipient of a number of prizes including The Leonard James Fine Art Prize, The Manchester Academy of Fine Art Award and The Ken Billany Painting Prize. In 2015 she was awarded 2nd place in the Saatchiart Showdown. Her work is held in Private Collections in UK, USA, Canada, China, Germany and Italy. Louise’s current exhibitions include solo exhibitions at The International 3 and Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool and Spectrum, a group exhibition at PS Mirabel, Manchester. Louise has an upcoming solo exhibition at Touchstones Rochdale. Louise has also recently been selected for BEEP, Wales’s international painting prize exhibition. ****************************************************************
