FAIR CITIES: Exploring the Ecology of Art Market Centres

Join us for an afternoon of discussion and debate as we unravel how and why certain cities have become recognised as centres for the Art Market as well as exploring what kind of Art Market centre Manchester, and more broadly the North West, currently is / can become.
Speakers include: Liv Vaisberg, Co-Director of Independent, Brussels, Co-Founder of Poppositions, Brussels, and an independent curator; Leila Alexander, Sales Executive at White Cube and Director of the Leila Alexander Art Consultancy; and Alys Williams who is Founding Director, Owner and Curator of VITRINE, London / Basel and is based between these two cities. The event will be co-chaired by Lindsay Taylor, Arts Curator: University of Salford and Co-Chair of Contemporary Visual Art Network North West, and Paulette Terry Brien, Co-Director of The International 3 and Co-Curatorial Coordinator of The Manchester Contemporary.
Proceedings will be recorded and a series of legacy documents will be produced from the event by Sophia Crilly, Commissioning Editor (Resources) for a-n The Artists Information Company.
